WELCOME TO MIE


 Mie prefecture is almost in the middle of Japan, forming lengthwise from north to south. It is approximately divided into five areas culturally and economically, “Hokusei(north area)”, ”Chusei(central area)”, ”Nansei(south area)”, “Iga” and “Higashi-kishu”.
 Ise Jingu (Grand Shrine) is in “Nansei”. Many foreign tourists as well as Japanese go and worship, and drop in “Okageyokocho” and ”Oharaimachi-dori” which have many souvenir shops and classic restaurants. Suzuka-city which is famous for “Formura 1 Grand Prix” is in “Hokusei”.
 “Matsusaka beef” representing as the dairy farming is prosperous and rice, tea, oranges etc. are special products in Mie prefecture. There are a lot of fishing ports especially in “Nansei” and “Higashi-kishu”, and we can eat various kinds of fresh seafood.
 Petrochemical complex is formed in Yokkaichi port. There are electronic factories such as SHARP, Panasonic, TOSHIBA, automobile factories such as TOYOTA and HONDA in “Hokusei” and “Chusei”.

  • Expressways and arteries are highly-developed that connect between Nagoya and the Kinki Zone.
  • “The Linear Shinkansen” is planned to be built until 2045 and the station will be built in Kameyama-city.
